Why not? That's probably exactly how Tom Stoppard, the playwright wants you to be.

Here is an excellent academic lecture on the play that might help:
You can also visit SparkNotes for some ideas:

Wikipedia's not bad on this one and other online sources can be searched out as well.

But don't worry about it. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are just as confused as you are.Jeanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10029423500476995817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7920737821264059070.post-8175053495541065392010-04-19T10:53:00.000-07:002010-04-20T05:41:28.342-07:00Shakespeare Exercises 11th GradeYou will be completing three assignments.
Wagner changed elements of the story to suit both his narrative and the culture of Germany, but there are many similarities.

We will be looking at some of the operas and how the original myth was adapted to the stage as part of our Theater Arts unit. We will not study the operas in depth, but hopefully by listening to a bit of the music and examining some of the backstage element of a production, you will gain an appreciation of the musical drama known as opera and also learn a bit about how stories are often adapted for theatrical/film productions.

Read the story of Der Ring des Nibelungen here: Der Ring des Nibelungen linkJeanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10029423500476995817noreply@blogger.com0
